Drumstick leaves known as
Murangayila leaves is very popular
and nutritious dish in Kerala, South
India. It contains lots of vitamins
and minerals. Even its best to avoid
non digestive problems.
Most of the houses in Kerala has
drumstick trees in their out yard.
Peoples residing outside Kerala
gives more value for this leaves.
Drumstick trees are rarely found in
other states.
Today I had prepared drumstick leaves
curry and I found it very tasty.Here am
writing the method of my preparation.
INGREDIENTS
drumstick leaves
1/4 cup of dal
one tomato
2 nos of green chilies
1/4 tsp cumin seed
1/4 part grated coconut
3 nos garlic
2 nos dry chilies
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
2 tsp coconut oil/sunflower oil
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
3/4 tsp chilly powder
Salt as required
2.5 glass of water, or as required by you.
PREPARATION
Soak the dal for fifteen minutes.
Take a pressure cooker. Add the dal,
drumstick leaves, cut the tomato
and add it, add turmeric powder,
chilly powder and salt. Pour
required water. Close the cooker
and cook it with two whistle in
medium flame. Meanwhile make
the coconut preparation.
Take a mixie jar. Add the grated
coconut, green chillies, garlic and
cumin seeds. You can add two
shallots. If you like the taste of it.
Grind it, make a fine paste.
Open the cooker if its cooled. Add
the coconut mix, stir it. Check salt.
Leave it to cook for two minutes in
low flame.
Take a kadai for seasoning. Add the
coconut oil. Add the mustard seed
when its heated. Then add the dry
Chillies. Check it splutter properly
To be done under low flame.
Remove it from flame. Wait for five
minutes. Serve it with warm rice.
